Birthday Party Rules
Hello! We’re very excited to see you soon for your upcoming party. Our coaches are there to lead games and activities and make your visit as fun as possible! To help the party go smoothly, your assistance would be greatly appreciated in being an extra pair of eyes and ears on the floor. We’ll go over all this the day of the party, but if you could review this document beforehand then you’ll be more familiar with the workings of our gym.
Big Five Gym Rules
No running in the gym.
One climber per climb - if you aren’t currently climbing, stand on the concrete to wait for your turn on the wall.
Give other climbers space on the wall - if you are above, below, or can touch another climber then you’re at risk! We don’t want anyone to get landed on!
Remove climbing shoes before entering the bathroom.
Stay with your coach. If you’d like to explore another part of the gym, just ask! We’ll try to accommodate requests as much as possible, but only if the coach decides it’s within our risk tolerance to do so.
Bouldering Orientation
All our climbs use the V-scale rating system, the higher the number the more difficult the climb.
Our climbs are color coded—start at the tagged hold and follow that color to the finish.
However, these are only guidelines, so feel free to use any hold to get to the top if you like!
Only climbing shoes are allowed on our walls. These shoes will be provided to all birthday guests (and parents if they would also like to participate).
How to Fall
Feet in strong, wide stance to control landing.
Hands in front or across chest with elbows in front.
Squat down to place bottom and self on ground.
Roll back to disperse momentum.
Auto-Belay Orientation
Attach the triple locking carabiner to the harness through black belay loop.
Double check the rope is retracting into the device and the carabiner is locked.
Then undo the carabiner clipped into the belay gate triangle through the small hole on the top.
To unhook the climber, you do these steps in reverse order—clip the belay gate triangle to the small hole above the carabiner and remove the triple locking carabiner from the harness.
This is just to ensure that the auto-belay is connected to something at all times and doesn’t retract to the top of the wall.
